In this webinar, Anna Bateman, who sits on the DfE advisory group for the mental health green paper and has previously been appointed on two DfE governing bodies to address the DfE green paper for School Leaders and Mental Health Leads, will be looking at;

  • An overview of the DfE green paper, including the plan for schools, the role of the mental health lead and mental health support teams;
  • We will also take a look at CAHMS waiting times and how we can use research to improve our practise in schools;
  • We discuss practical ways to prevent mental health issues from arising in schools and what steps that schools and practitioners can take now in regards to the paper;
  • We discuss practical ways to prevent mental health issues from arising in schools and what steps that schools and practitioners can take now in regards to the paper.

In addition, following the announcement from Theresa May in relation to schools being asked to track children’s happiness, the webinar will include:

  • What does this mean for me and my school, where does this fit into the bigger MH picture and the Government’s Green Paper;
  • Is this something that will be statutory and how can I begin to track students;
  • Theresa May has talked about ending stigma and the tragedy of suicide, how can my school ensure we are already tackling these issues.
