Employers have a legal duty to report serious workplace accidents. Effective accident reporting helps to increase safety at work and ensures compliance with RIDDOR and health and safety law.
This essential CPD course provides you with the core content you need to know in relation to reporting accidents in the workplace.

- Understanding the common terms associated with accident reporting and the wider consequences of employees who take time off work.

- Identifying the legal duties of employees and the role of the responsible person in reporting injuries and dangerous occurrences.
- Knowing how to implement an effective internal reporting procedure and why this is important.
- Recognising what should be reported under RIDDOR, how it should be reported and within what timeframes.
Module 1: Definitions and accident statistics
In this module, you will explore the definitions of common terms related to accident reporting and the statistics relating to workplace accidents.
Module 2: Legislation and legal duties
Module two offers an overview of legislation relating to accident reporting, including the legal duties of employers and employees and the role of the responsible person.
Module 3: What to report
Module three outlines what should be reported, when and to whom and explores how to record different types of accidents and incidents in the workplace.
