Course Duration: 33 minutes (approx.)

Employers have a legal duty to report serious workplace accidents. Effective accident reporting helps to increase safety at work and ensures compliance with RIDDOR and health and safety law.

This essential CPD course provides you with the core content you need to know in relation to reporting accidents in the workplace.

Split into bite-sized modules, the training has been designed to provide maximum learning potential in the leanest, most cost-effective and most time-efficient manner. It has been produced in high-quality remote video CPD format which is accessible on any device, any time, anywhere.

Delivered by James Whelan, an experienced chartered health and safety expert who provides fire risk consultancy, CDM Advisor, training and environmental protection services to a wide range of commercial sector organisations, this course is split into three modules with a knowledge assessment at the end to help you evidence your learning.

This course has been designed in line with the following policies:

  • Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974
  • Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013

Learning objectives:

  • Understanding the common terms associated with accident reporting and the wider consequences of employees who take time off work.
  • Recognising what legislation applies to employers legal duties with respect to accident reporting.
  • Identifying the legal duties of employees and the role of the responsible person in reporting injuries and dangerous occurrences.
  • Knowing how to implement an effective internal reporting procedure and why this is important.
  • Recognising what should be reported under RIDDOR, how it should be reported and within what timeframes.
