Understanding what safeguarding and child protection are

In module 1 you will understand the importance of safeguarding and child protection and the key challenges that schools may face in delivering effective provision.

Safeguarding awareness and recognising signs of abuse

Module 2 will explore the minimum requirements that all staff must be aware of around child protection and how children might suffer different forms of abuse.

The roles and responsibilities of safeguarding leaders

In module 3 you will learn about key policy requirements around child protection and the designated roles and responsibilities of safeguarding and child protection leaders.

Safer recruitment and offending behaviour

Module 4 will discuss how schools should implement robust and effective recruitment procedures, maintain confidentiality and manage disclosures from children.

Certificate in Understanding Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment

Schools and colleges have a legal responsibility to protect their students from sexual abuse, such as sexual violence and sexual harassment. All staff must stay up to date with the latest safeguarding training to ensure they are compliant with their legal duties. Schools must also implement relevant policies and procedures so that staff can effectively respond to reported incidences whilst complying with statutory guidance.

Advanced Certificate in Safer Recruitment (International Schools)

All schools must ensure that they have robust policies in place around the selection and suitability of prospective employees and that they are proactively creating a culture of safer recruitment. It’s essential that schools adopt a consistent and rigorous approach towards safer recruitment processes that ensures the wellbeing and safety of children and protects them from harm and abuse.

Certificate in Asbestos Management in Schools

  • Available On Demand

This course will provide school leaders, school staff, governing bodies and responsible bodies (as duty holders) with practical advice and guidance on how to manage asbestos in educational settings, in line with the 2020 DfE ‘Asbestos Management in Schools’ guidance.
