About the Course

All early years providers have a statutory duty to ensure that their premises, including overall floor space and outdoor spaces, are fit for purpose and suitable for the age of children on the premises. They must also comply with the requirements of health and safety legislation.

Developed James Whelan, chartered health and safety expert with extensive experience of delivering workplace training, this Essential CPD course will give you the knowledge and skills to safely organise and manage nursery premises and equipment, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Guidelines.

This module gives an overview of the Health & Safety Executives requirements for Organising and Managing Nursery Premises and Equipment.

Module 2: Legislation and guidance

This module explores the wider legislation applicable to the layout and management of early years premises. It will explain the basic principles of each and explain how they relate to an early years setting.

Module 3: The early years foundation stage

This module explains how the early years foundation stage guidance document and legislation can guide early years practitioners to make create the safest and most engaging environment possible.

The final module covers first aid requirements for nursery settings, helping to equip early years practitioners with the knowledge and tools to ensure that they can support those in their setting beyond premises and equipment.
