Subject leaders in the EYFS play a vital role in delivering the standards that schools must provide as part of their statutory requirements under the EYFS framework and in order to meet Ofsted requirements. They should ensure they have the necessary training and skills in order to assess and improve the quality of their provision, support staff development and drive up standards.

Modules
Module 1: Characteristics of effective leadership
This module covers the different characteristics of an effective leader and explores how each of these can be applied to EYFS leadership in order to deliver successful pupil outcomes.
Module 2: Developing professional and pedagogical knowledge
In module two, you will explore the key professional and pedagogical knowledge needed in order to lead an early years team effectively.
Module 3: Leading improvement
In this module, you will learn how to lead improvement through self-evaluation, gathering a picture of strengths and gaps, distilling this into clear actions and bringing your team along with you.
Module 4: Leading a diverse team
This module looks at how to lead a diverse team and ensure you are able to bring out the best in all your staff regardless of their skills, level of experience and personality type.
Module 5: Confidence in dealing with difficult situations
In module five we will look at developing confidence in managing difficult situations and explore how communication, assertiveness and negotiation can help support conflict resolution.
Module 6: Advice and guidance
In the final module, we will look at solutions to a range of leadership questions from schools and consider general advice and guidance around potentially challenging areas.
