It is a statutory requirement for all schools to have a comprehensive R(S)HE curriculum in place, ideally within a wider programme of PSHE education. This falls in line with Ofsted expectations, following their review of sexual abuse in schools and colleges, who call for ‘high-quality training for teachers delivering RSHE’ and evidenced the benefits of employing a dedicated R(S)HE lead.
Developed by John Rees, R(S)HE subject matter expert with over 25 years’ educational leadership experience, this Essential CPD course provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to understand your statutory R(S)HE requirements, the recommended PSHE expectations and drive local adaptation in your school.
Please note: The course consists of learning through video, task completion and further reading/research. Please consider this when planning and allocating your time. To successfully understand and achieve the objectives from the course, learners are expected to engage in all aspects of the learning process and complete all relevant activities to ensure they can successfully apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their own setting.
Designed in line with the following policies:
- Relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education
