Dr Leigh Hoath is a professor of science education and science education lead at Leeds Trinity University and editor of the Association for Science Education’s Primary Science Journal. As part of this role, she is also PGCE course leader for the secondary science route as well as teaching the primary science modules for the undergraduate degree. She also teaches on the Master’s programme.

Her teaching is supplemented by her personal experience teaching science across the primary and secondary age phases and began to explore teacher education after being inspired by teaching a lower sixth biology class.

Leigh is also the educational outreach consultant to BASF and has worked with the BBC on Blue Planet Live to design activities and teacher materials.
