Emma Orr

Since qualifying as a teacher in 2006, Emma has worked in a variety of primary and secondary schools in the UK as well as teaching overseas in Beijing. As an educator, she has always had a keen interest in the development of a child’s character alongside their academic progress.

In 2013 she became an assistant principal at a secondary school with character development assigned as a crucial part of her role. Her progress of this work at the school made a real impact and was recognised by several national publications as well gaining attention from leaders across the country. As her career has grown, she took on a number of leadership roles and currently works as a Senior Academy Improvement Officer. It’s in this role that Emma has advanced her knowledge of character education even further and has seen with her own eyes the benefits this can have for a whole school ethos.
