John Rainer

John Rainer has been teaching drama and theatre for over 30 years as a secondary school teacher, advisory teacher, university lecturer, youth theatre director and consultant.

He is the author of a number of published works on drama education, notably 'Teaching Classroom Drama and Theatre' for Routledge, and 'GCSE Drama', a multimedia textbook, for Oxford University Press. He also wrote 'Drama at the Heart of the Secondary Curriculum' for David Fulton, and most recently, ‘Teaching Social Issues through Scripts’, with Kirsty Walters.

He currently works in the Faculty of Education, Manchester Metropolitan University, where he manages one of three academic divisions and co-ordinate the successful PGCE drama course.
