Teach Secondary had five categories at the heart of secondary teaching and learning – curriculum impact, assessment, safeguarding, SEND and CPD – and compiled a shortlist of 30 finalists; six per category.
Kate McCabe is a senior leader and English leading practitioner who has worked across an array of primary and secondary education settings. She is an experienced Local Authority Moderator and is a specialist leader of education (SLE) in her subject field, enabling her to provide outstanding leadership and support to other primary schools.
Kate has led consultancy and training across a range of settings on key literacy programmes. She has worked across all primary phases and has predominantly taught at KS3 in secondary schools. She previously worked as a SENCO and completed the National SENCO award at degree level. She is also recognised as national Oracy Leader, working to raise the status of oracy in schools across the UK.
