Case Study:
North Leamington School

North Leamington School is a mixed comprehensive school based in Warwickshire, which also offers the opportunity for students to progress into sixth form too.

With an extensive staff roll, they were keen to search out a way of providing a more personalised approach to CPD so that individuals could develop their own areas of unique interest, as well as meeting their statutory requirements.

After considering a number of options, they chose to purchase The National College’s School Membership package and have since successfully implemented it into their wider CPD programme.

Initiating a change

The school were convinced from the outset that The National College would afford them the chance to keep on top of the latest changes to DfE statutory guidance and policy.

Delighted with the diversity of webinars and core focus to CPD, all were in agreement that this was the right choice for them moving forward.

Gemma Jephcote, Senior Assistant Head Teacher at North Leamington School said: “We purchased the School Membership.”

“Our Head Teacher (Joy Mitchell) discussed the options with a colleague at The National College. She was interested in the materials they offered and the chance for staff to personalise their CPD.

“The National College offered North Leamington School a variety of educational material, with a range of topics covered in one place.”

Further development

A School Membership with The National College gives the capability for management of staff progress across the entire school, with subsequent access to all topics for an unlimited number of users.

This approach is being adopted by North Leamington, and they are excited to yield the benefits from this.

“The service has been great (from The National College) and support has been offered when we have contacted them,” Miss Jephcote explained.

“We have started to engage with the resource and are looking at embedding it into upcoming CPD sessions.”
