Continuing our series, #WebinarWednesday! The feature where we launch a fresh, new and exclusive hot topic webinar, which falls in line with the latest policy and best practice in education. This week, we’re launching ‘Supporting Senior Leaders Wellbeing: DIY Guide to Your Mental Health’.

With the new Ofsted inspections placing a heightened level of culpability at the door of school leaders when it comes to managing staff members’ workload and wellbeing, it’s essential that senior leaders have a means of taking care of their own mental health and wellbeing.

The DfE Governance Handbook 2019 places emphasis on two key points which surround the topic.

Firstly, the responsibility is on boards to make day-to-day decisions in relation to the wellbeing and mental health of the school leadership team and teaching staff.

Secondly, appointing a wellbeing champion, preferably a governor or a trustee, should be seen as best practice in order to deliver strategic support to the school leadership team.

Through this webinar, presented by mental health and wellbeing expert, Anna Bateman, you will explore the core aspects of the 2019 Teacher Wellbeing Index report and cover the main recommendations.

With a central focus on supporting yourself, you will also learn how to employ practical strategies to help better manage your own mental health and wellbeing in order to better manage others.
