This week is Geography Awareness Week and an opportunity for students, educators, families and schools around the world to celebrate geography. That's why this week's #WebinarWednesday focuses on how to teach for mastery of geography.

The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) reports that an effective approach to mastery learning can, on average, lead to an additional five months’ progress, although admit that making mastery learning work successfully is challenging. Whilst there is no single established view or definition of mastery, what is known is that it relates to the concepts of shallow and deep learning.

In our featured webinar, the Geographical Association, leading subject association for teachers of geography with an unrivalled understanding in education, will explore the concept of teaching for mastery in geography, highlighting the benefits that effective mastery teaching can deliver, and explaining how teachers might set about developing and achieving mastery in the classroom.
