At every national data collection point, white boys under-attain in all areas, and the reasons are complex and nuanced. One group of children in particular which has gone ‘unseen’ is white boys eligible for free school meals. This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on developing strategies to support the most disadvantaged pupils, drawing on evidence-based practice, including Jean Gross’s book, ‘Reaching the Unseen Children’.
In this week’s featured webinar, Megan Dixon, specialist literacy teacher and senior leader who has worked closely with the EEF, DfE and Ofsted, explains using case studies, how schools can take a systematic approach to reaching unseen and misunderstood pupils, and transform outcomes both at school and as they transition to independence and adulthood.
