About the Webinar

This webinar will provide headteachers, governors, senior leaders and staff with an overview of DfE’s proposed revisions to statutory guidance on creating opportunities for access to education and training providers. The revisions mark the next step in achieving the government’s vision set out in its Skills for Jobs White Paper in developing an agile and adaptable workforce and improving national productivity.

On 20 June 2022, the DfE opened consultation on proposed changes to Careers guidance and access for education and training providers. This statutory guidance underpins schools’ legal duty established in the Skills and Post-16 Education Act 2022 to provide year 8 to 13 pupils with opportunities to discuss options with technical education and apprenticeships providers. The consultation will close on 25 July 2022.

This webinar will explore key areas of the proposed revisions, highlighting what schools need to know and do to ensure compliance, the support available to them, and why they should get involved in the consultation process.
