About the Webinar

This webinar will provide school governors, headteachers, senior leaders and department heads with an understanding and insight into how Ofsted will review and question school data.

The use of data as part of Ofsted’s evaluation of schools has changed. Whilst Ofsted announced that 'Data would not be King', Ofsted will continue to look at school performance in a national context and refer to it in a ‘value’ added sense, particularly around the school inspection data summary report (IDSR).

In this webinar, The National College will explore how Ofsted inspections for schools and colleges will look at data and how to support schools in effectively preparing for an Ofsted assessment.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding how Ofsted view internal ‘progress tracking’ and using ‘value added’ measures as an inspection starting point.

  • Recognising how Ofsted assessments use the inspection data summary reports (IDSRs) and what these values show.

  • Identifying what will be considered around internal progress and attainment data and understanding the how, what and why questions that may be asked.

  • Recognising how data should be used to support evaluation criteria, rather than suppress it or replace it.

  • Understanding what questions Ofsted may ask schools around intent, impact and implementation and exploring possible discussion points.
