About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 24 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders and governors with insight into Ofsted’s guidance on Conduct during Ofsted inspections, clarifying expectations placed on education inspectors and providers to facilitate school improvement.

In July 2021, Ofsted updated its guidance on conduct during inspections, identifying key features of the behaviours it expects of all parties during an inspection so that, through intelligent, responsible and focused inspection, Ofsted can be a force for improvement.

In this webinar, Matt Bromley, education writer and adviser with over twenty years’ experience as a teacher, headteacher and principal, highlights changes in Ofsted’s guidance document to enhance school leaders’ understanding of the inspection process and their role in it, and prepare for a co-operative and beneficial experience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gaining insight into Ofsted’s updated guidance document ‘Conduct during Ofsted inspections’ to help schools prepare for an Ofsted inspection.

  • Recognising the expectations placed on inspectors during inspection visits for appropriate and accurate information gathering.

  • Understanding how the guidance is aligned with the Civil Service code which identifies the Civil Service’s core values and expected conduct of all civil servants.

  • Appreciating the importance of the school’s role in the inspection process in facilitating open communication and provision of evidence.

  • Understanding how the guidance sits within the wider Ofsted 2017-22 strategy, with a focus on its guiding principle and core values.
