About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 46 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, subject leads and teachers with practical guidance and advice on how they can effectively use data to inform classroom practice and deliver a more targeted approach to teaching which supports better pupil outcomes.

Data-driven instruction is vital to understanding individual pupil needs. All schools collect data, however, if analysed and treated effectively, it can help identify and address areas for improvement, provide insight into classroom comprehension and give teachers the skills to successfully evaluate their own practice in order to continuously improve.

In this webinar, Stefan Fusenich, experienced teacher, educator and DfE subject learning coach, will explain how schools can maximise the opportunities that effective data analysis can present and where it can be used to help drive teaching and learning.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding the data schools already have and ways to gather additional information that can help support teaching and guide classroom practice.

  • Realising how to analyse and interpret the different sources of data in order to shape lesson planning and sequencing in line with pupil needs.

  • Identifying the main benefits of data-driven classroom practice for pupils, teachers and the school as a whole, and building a more supportive culture which doesn’t assign blame.

  • Recognising what challenges data collection and analysis might bring and how to ensure data-driven instruction does not become an onerous and burdensome task.

  • Understanding the importance of continuous evaluation and progress checking to ensure data is up to date and being used efficiently and effectively.
