About the Webinar

This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors and teachers with expert insight into DfE -funded initiatives to support education recovery and enhance the wellbeing of children and young people of all ages.

The DfE’s guidance on Education recovery support identifies DfE-funded programmes and activities for children and young people, prioritising those that need help most, including disadvantaged pupils and students, and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

In this webinar, Stefan Fusenich, teacher, educator and DfE subject learning coach with extensive management and teaching experience, provides an expert overview of the DfE’s education recovery support, including initiatives to improve academic attainment, to enhance wellbeing and socialisation, and targeted support for children and young people who are disadvantaged or with SEND.

  • Gaining familiarity with current DfE-funded education recovery to enhance academic attainment and wellbeing and support pupils who are disadvantaged or with SEND

  • Understanding the range of funding available, eligibility criteria, how funding should be spent and reporting and accountability requirements

  • Appreciating changes to education recovery support for 2022, including information on the accelerator fund for core skills, recovery premium funding and tutoring.

  • Recognising the focus of the recovery premium funding on pupil premium eligible pupils and pupils in specialist settings, and indicative funding rates for 2022 to 2023

  • Being able to evaluate need in schools’ specific setting and understand how to apply for relevant funding.
