About the Webinar

On 25th February 2020, the DfE published new draft guidance for KCSIE 2020. They have opened their consultation process on the proposed changes due to take effect from September 2020.

The guidance outlines the statutory requirements that all schools and colleges must adhere to in respect of their safeguarding duties and promoting the welfare of children.

This webinar will help governors, school leaders, headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), school staff and teachers to understand the proposed revisions and offer advice and clarity on the key updates to safeguarding policy.

  • Understand the core changes around the management of safeguarding and role of senior leaders

  • Recognise the emphasis and level of detail placed on safer recruitment arrangements

  • Learn what the new guidance proposes for DSLs and the rationale for possible change

  • Understand the changes to safeguarding online and the importance of a whole school approach
