This webinar will provide headteachers, managers, senior leaders, governors, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on recognising signs of the different types of child abuse in nursery-age children, and understanding what steps to take in response.

Given the hours spent caring for young children, nursery teachers and practitioners are well positioned to spot the signs of child abuse. This is, however, a complex process: the signs may not necessarily be obvious and can vary, depending on the type of abuse. Children may not be old enough to articulate their experiences or understand the concept of abuse, and unusual behaviours may actually be attributable to other causes.

In this webinar, Robin Watts, international safeguarding expert and education consultant who has worked with schools worldwide, explains some common signs that should trigger concern for the welfare of young children, and the steps that nursery staff should take in immediate response.
