Given the amount of time they spend with children, school staff are well positioned to spot the signs of child abuse. This is, however, a complex process: the signs may not necessarily be obvious and can vary, depending on the type of abuse. Children may not be able to articulate their experiences or fully understand the concept of abuse, and unusual behaviours may actually be attributable to other causes.

In this webinar, Robin Watts, international safeguarding expert and education consultant who has worked with schools worldwide, explains some common signs that should trigger concern for the welfare of children, and the steps that school staff should take in immediate response.
