This webinar will help senior leaders, subject leads and teachers to explore different assessment models in order to provide a more effective way to monitor and track student progression from September 2020.

The cancellation of exams this year due to covid-19 has meant that schools and colleges must use other evidence-based methods of student performance to help Ofqual determine a centre assessment grade.

For many teachers, this will mean an increase in workload. It will also open the door to unconscious bias and raise the question of how to ensure a uniform process across all schools and a level of standardisation. It is also unclear how covid-19 may affect exams moving forward.

In this webinar, Michael Chiles, Principal Examiner, school leader and author of The CRAFT of Assessment, will discuss how schools can take a more progressive, objective and holistic approach to measuring student performance beyond singular examinations. It will explore how to develop reliable, accurate and creative assessment strategies which can help schools plan their teaching and learning and fairly monitor student progression through the academic year.
