This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors, teachers and teaching assistants with advice and practical guidance on developing emotional literacy so that primary-age pupils are able to identify different emotions and understand the feelings they evoke.

Gaining insight into one’s own emotions and understanding and respecting those of others are key aspects of personal, social and emotional development, the foundations upon which pro-social behaviour and friendships are built, and also a prerequisite for academic attainment.

In this webinar, Anna Bateman, subject matter expert on mental health & wellbeing, who has worked in an advisory role for the DfE, explains how emotional literacy skills can be developed so that pupils can better understand and manage emotions – bringing benefit to the classroom and contributing to pupils’ future wellbeing.
