About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 84 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide school leaders, teachers and practitioners in early years settings with expert insight into the latest Ofsted guidance on delivering the EYFS and inspection practice, so that they can make preparations to ensure compliance with the revised EYFS framework which becomes mandatory on 1 September 2021.

Published 22 July 2021, Ofsted's Registered early years providers and The EYFS in schools answer the most frequently asked questions on the new EYFS framework and Ofsted’s inspection practice, dispelling some common misconceptions and clarifying expectations both for curriculum delivery and during the inspection process.

In this webinar, Debbie Keyte-Hartland will identify the key points of Ofsted’s publications, and provide practical guidance on the steps early years settings should take to ensure delivery of an ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum in line with the new EYFS framework and Ofsted expectations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gaining insight into the key points of Ofsted’s new guidance, and how this impacts provision when the revised EYFS framework comes into effect in the new academic year.

  • Recognising common misconceptions around curriculum planning, pupil assessment and the Ofsted inspection process.

  • Clarifying Ofsted expectations with regard to delivery of an ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum which prepares pupils for key stage 1.

  • Understanding Ofsted’s stance on modifications and disapplications of the EYFS and for the teaching of early reading in schools that have an exemption.

  • Being able to identify further resources to inform the provision of an early years curriculum which aligns with the revised EYFS framework and Ofsted expectations.
