Observation, rather than probing, forms the most valuable means for assessing the knowledge, skills and understanding of young learners. By offering constructive feedback based on the findings of observations, teachers and practitioners in early years settings can effectively facilitate learning.

In this webinar, Sarah Cummins, Montessori theory practitioner with 20 years’ experience as a teacher, SENCO and headteacher, explains the principles of observation and feedback aligned with Montessori theory, and how these can be translated into effective practice in early years settings.
