About the Webinar

This webinar will provide school leaders, subject leads and teachers with practical advice and guidance around introducing a blended learning approach to teaching children.

Research suggests that student engagement through flipped learning shows significant improvement of anything between 30 – 80%. Furthermore, many teachers have reported that when used effectively, it gives them more time to work with students on deepening their understanding and subject knowledge.

During the coronavirus pandemic, many schools have successfully embraced technology to aid children’s learning. With the future uncertain, now is the perfect time to explore how flipped learning can successfully impact pupil outcomes moving forward.

In this webinar, leading education expert Chris McShane, discusses how schools can and should consider a blended approach to learning, combining both classroom and remote working practice. It will also cover practical development methods and implementation strategies.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding what a blended learning approach is and where and how flipped learning can complement traditional teaching methods.

  • Recognising the benefits of flipped learning and how to successfully implement a blended approach.

  • Identifying the advantages of instruction, application of knowledge and personalisation in blended learning techniques.

  • Developing practical methods of flipped learning and the benefits in retrieval, assessments and feedback loops.

  • Understanding the steps towards implementation, building confidence in virtual learning environments and developing a more social, constructivist approach.

Learning for Lockdown

I have been using 'Flip My Learning' before the term came about. Lockdown underlined the benefits and effectiveness of such learning for me. The key points highlighted in this video underlined the pedagogy and gave pointers / idea to the way forward.
John Simmonds - Bowland High

Blended learning in a Covid-19 world

I was already familiar and an advocate of flipped learning before booking this Webinar. However, it helped me to reflect on my practice and approach of how I delivered online learning to students whilst schools were closed. This provided confirmation of what I've already been doing well and how this can be moved forward into the new school year. Also, as a middle leader it has provided me ways of feeding this information to the rest of the teaching staff.
Shraddha Patel - Alperton Community School
