Webinar Duration: 50 minutes (approx.)
This webinar will provide modern foreign languages teachers, subject and curriculum leaders and headteachers with practical guidance on evaluating and enhancing current modern foreign languages provision at key stage 3, aligned with Ofsted guidance.
Ofsted’s curriculum research review series: languages highlights the need for pupils to gain systematic knowledge of the three pillars of language learning: phonics (sound and spelling systems), grammar and vocabulary, in order to build competency in the new language.
In this webinar, Wendy Adeniji, experienced school principal, modern foreign languages teacher, inspector, trainer and author of international renown, explains how the key elements of language can be effectively taught and reinforced at key stage 3 so that they are retained in pupils’ long-term memory, facilitating progression towards autonomy in understanding and communication.
