About the Webinar

On 26th February 2019, the Education Select Committee were told pupils in the UK were less prepared than other nations for Industry 4.0. A greater emphasis should be placed on creatively using and applying knowledge. This webinar encourages schools to think differently and seeks to promote new and innovative ways to work. It explains how cultivating a coaching and mentoring culture, whilst not a complete solution, can help improve performance at all levels, including successfully recruiting and retaining staff.

Learning Outcomes

  • How society is changing and why UK education needs to think differently

  • Skills for the future and the role of education

  • What coaching and mentoring is and its importance in staff recruitment and retention

  • The Emotionally Intelligent School of the future towards a Self-Directed Culture

  • A case study, including the impact and outcomes

I found this webinar very interesting and full of useful examples and facts.
Christelle Fournes, Director of Studies - Hill House International Junior School

Very interesting webinar

Having completed a coaching for school program in my previous school and coached staff successfully I found this interesting and it leads me to believe that all schools should embed coaching and mentoring into their everyday timetable.
Dominique Stainton, Teacher - University Academy Long Sutton

Developing a Coaching Culture in Schools

The future skills and knowledge section is interesting. The new skills that we have to think about are far reaching and makes our current curriculum in secondary schools seem outdated. Links to neuroscience are clear. Would recommend the ‘Neuroscience for Learning’ webinar to watch alongside this webinar. Collective efficacy is the key to whole school improvement. Overall a clear and educational webinar based on real life experience as well as research.
