About the Webinar

This webinar is for governors, school leaders and head teachers to help them manage, implement and maximise their literacy and numeracy catch-up premium for students who didn’t achieve the expected standard at KS2.

On the 25th February, the DfE updated its guidance to the Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch-Up Premium. The guidance details how schools will receive their allocated funding, the terms on which grants are allocated and what their responsibilities are to Ofsted.

In this webinar, highly experienced practicing inspector, Maggie Parker, discusses what the literacy and numeracy catch-up premium is, meeting expectations from the DfE and benefiting from effective strategic implementation.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding your entitlement and the conditions of grant under the catch-up premium

  • Recognising effective methods for maximising your catch-up premium and improving standards in literacy and numeracy

  • How to use the question level analysis function (QLA) and exploring evidence-based catch-up strategies

  • An awareness of scaled scores and the expected DfE standard for national curriculum tests

  • Understanding your Ofsted accountability and how Ofsted inspect use of the premium
