This webinar will provide headteachers, governors, subject leads and teachers with an insight into the new national plan for music education and how the government aims to achieve its vision for music education through partnerships with schools, music hubs, the music and creative sector, and others.

On 25 June 2022, the DfE and Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMC) published their policy paper titled ‘The power of music to change lives: A National Plan for Music Education’. The plan builds on previous guidance and responds to change over the last decade, recognising that more needs to be done to support teachers, leaders, schools, trusts and Music Hubs to deliver the best music education for children and young people.

In this webinar, Stephen Burnage, expert practitioner, consultant and trainer with 25+ years' experience teaching and leading schools, explores what the government’s main aims of the new national plan are, including how they intend to achieve their strategic vision, what key areas have informed the guidance and what this all means for schools moving forward.
