This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors, designated mental health leads, SENCOs, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on promoting social, emotional and mental wellbeing to protect young people against behavioural and health issues, in alignment with NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recommendations.
On 6 July 2022, NICE published its guideline ‘Social, emotional and mental wellbeing in primary and secondary education’ which identifies the components of an evidence-based, whole-school approach to supporting the wellbeing of staff, children and young people (including people who are neurodiverse), and which embraces relational, inclusive and trauma-informed practice.
In this webinar, Anna Bateman, subject matter expert on mental health & wellbeing, who has worked in an advisory role for the DfE, will highlight the salient points of NICE’s new guideline and explain what actions secondary schools should take as a result.
