Webinar Duration: 55 minutes (approx.)
This webinar will provide headteachers, governors, curriculum and subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with advice and practical guidance on applying adult learning theory to teaching and learning at post-16 level to enhance engagement and academic outcomes.
As pupils move towards adulthood, the way they learn changes, reflecting a shift towards greater self-direction and autonomy. By applying the principles of andragogy, an adult learning theory, in post-16 settings, schools can effectively meet the learning needs of older pupils.
In this webinar, Stefan Fusenich, experienced teacher, educator and DfE subject learning coach, will explain the theory behind andragogy, and how this can be applied in the classroom, including the structure of lessons and presentation of materials, to enhance post-16 attainment.
