About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 87 minutes (approx.)

This webinar, in collaboration with the National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD), will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders and teachers and practitioners with an insight into strategies, best practices and resources to support confident and consistent art and design teaching across all lessons and for all pupils, aligned with Ofsted expectations.

High-quality art and design provision depends on the employment of practices and resources coherently by all teaching staff, constantly refined to meet learning needs, including those of the most vulnerable pupils. Embedding good practice also helps schools prepare for the possibility of an Ofsted ‘deep dive’.

In this webinar, NSEAD, the leading voice for art, craft & design education, at all phases, throughout the UK and beyond, will discuss strategies and best practice to enhance effective art and design curriculum delivery, and signpost subject leaders and teachers to the best subject-specific resources.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gaining an insight into strategy and practice which supports consistent delivery of the art and design curriculum across the school.

  • Identifying the latest resources and materials which most effectively draw upon the subject’s distinct value and characteristics.

  • Appreciating the importance of ongoing assessment in consolidating pupils’ knowledge and in refining teaching to meet pupils’ needs.

  • Understanding how to create a learning environment which reflects the school’s ambitious intentions for all pupils, including the most disadvantaged and those with SEND.

  • Recognising the need to establish consistent and cumulative art and design provision across the school in preparation for the possibility of an Ofsted deep dive.
