As one of the DfE-funded National Centre for Computing Education programme’s Subject Matter Experts, Jamie supports SLT, subject leaders, and teachers to realise their whole school vision for Computing. He is a community leader for the CAS Saddleworth Mixed community of practice. He has developed a Computing Scheme of Work that is used within his own teaching and throughout the UK.
He is a member of the CAS primary working group, helping to shape the development of the subject nationally. With 20 years of primary and secondary teaching experience, Jamie is currently a specialist teacher of Computing and the Computing leader at a Manchester primary school. There, he teaches Computing from Nursery to Year 6.
A facilitator of teacher professional development at regional and national levels, Jamie holds the prestigious STEM Learning CPD Quality Mark. He is also an Apple Teacher (with Swift Playgrounds recognition), Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and Google Certified Educator.
Jamie also shares his knowledge and expertise through JEcomputing to help others successfully improve their computing provision and use of education technology across the curriculum.
