The National Tutoring Programme: How to Bridge the Attainment Gap

This webinar will provide senior leaders, headteachers and subject leads with practical advice and guidance on how they can maximise and successfully implement effective private tutoring.

Analysis by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) suggests that the attainment gap between learners from disadvantaged backgrounds and their classmates will have grown whilst schools and colleges were closed due to COVID-19. Extensive evidence shows that high-quality tutoring can help learners to bridge that gap. Through the DfE’s £350 million National Tutoring Programme (NTP), schools and colleges should make sure that children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds, are provided with additional, targeted support to address the impact of missed learning.
