About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 48 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with an insight into the benefits of responsive teaching and how schools can deploy this powerful tool in the classroom to help pupils catch up.

Responsive teaching provides a means by which schools can address the increased diversity of learning needs as a result of disruption to schooling during the pandemic. Ofsted’s Education inspection framework (EIF) also underlines the importance of responding and adapting teaching to learners’ needs.

In this webinar, Stefan Fusenich, teacher, educator and DfE subject learning coach with extensive management and teaching experience, will explain how schools can implement responsive teaching to support pupils with differing needs to achieve the same high academic goals, aligned with Ofsted expectations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding the importance of responsive teaching in the implementation of a successful programme of study.

  • Recognising the impact of COVID-19 and school closures on curriculum planning and the steps schools can take to address this.

  • Gaining insight into the latest research on effective teaching and learning and the concept of responsive teaching.

  • Appreciating the challenge of responding to a broad range of learning needs whilst steering all pupils towards the achievement of high aspirations.

  • Understanding how educational theory can be implemented in practice in the classroom to accelerate learning and support the catch-up curriculum.
