About the Webinar

This webinar will provide headteachers, governors, senior leaders and staff with an overview of DfE’s proposed new regulations on keeping school registers and draft thresholds for legal interventions to improve consistency across England. It represents the next stage in fulfilment of the government’s ambition to drive up attendance, as established in its White Paper, Opportunity for all: strong schools with great teachers for your child.

On 17 June 2022, the DfE opened consultation on Modernising school attendance and admission registers and setting national thresholds for legal intervention, following publication of the White Paper and the government’s response to previous consultation School attendance: improving the consistency of support. The current consultation will close on 29 July 2022.

This webinar will explore key areas of the proposed new regulations, highlighting how they differ to existing legislation, the implications for schools, and why they should get involved in the consultation process.
