This webinar will provide governors, managers, SENCOs and all early years practitioners with an understanding of their roles and responsibilities in relation to SEND in line with the new Keeping children safe in education statutory safeguarding guidance, supporting their preparation for the 2022/23 academic year.
On Friday 20 May 2022, the DfE published ‘Keeping children safe in education 2022’, due to come into effect from 1 September 2022. The document follows a consultation process earlier in the year which sought views on revisions to the previous guidance and continues to signpost the importance of supporting children with SEND given the additional safeguarding risks they might face.
In this webinar, Karen Pilling, SEND expert and acting deputy headteacher with extensive experience in SEND training in education settings, will explore the expectations placed on providers for the new year, what plans they can put in place now and how they can remain compliant with guidance and best practice.
