This webinar will provide headteachers, school and college leaders, and mental health leads with an overview of the DfE learning outcomes for senior mental health lead training and practical advice on what actions schools and colleges can take now.

On 22 June 2021, the DfE published their ‘Learning outcomes for senior mental health leads in schools and colleges’. The document sets out the learning outcomes that will enable a senior mental health lead to implement and sustain an effective whole-school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing in their setting, aligning with the eight principles outlined in Public Health England’s (PHE) ‘Promoting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing’.

In this webinar, Anna Bateman, subject matter expert on mental health and wellbeing, who works in an advisory role to the DfE, will provide schools and colleges with a review of the learning outcomes under the eight principles and what steps they can take now to support their training needs, with a view towards developing a coordinated and evidence-informed approach to mental health and wellbeing.
