This webinar will provide governors, headteachers and senior leaders with advice and practical guidance on effectively managing teacher workload, reducing the burden on staff and prioritising teaching and learning to improve pupil outcomes.

In the DfE’s Teacher workload survey 2019 , most respondents reported that ‘they could not complete their workload within their contracted hours, that they did not have an acceptable workload, and that they did not achieve a good work-life balance.’ Given the extra demands placed on schools during the pandemic, it is unlikely that the situation will have eased in the intervening period.

In this webinar, Haili Hughes, head of education, senior lecturer, mentor and author, and former English teacher and senior leader, explores the common causes of excessive workload and suggests ways in which they can be addressed in the best interests of both staff and pupils.
