About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 1 hour 1 minute (approx.)

This webinar will provide school leaders, teachers and practitioners in the EYFS with practical guidance on establishing the foundations of knowledge aligned with the EYFS Framework so that pupils are fully prepared for the transition to the key stage 1 curriculum.

The introduction of the EYFS framework reforms has brought with it concerns around curriculum design and delivery in preparing pupils for the next stage in their education, and also as to how this should recorded and articulated to stakeholders.

In this webinar, Debi Keyte-Hartland, early years expert, TEDx speaker and lecturer with over 25 years’ experience working with schools, will explain how EYFS providers can use everyday experiences which are appropriate and meaningful to young children as a platform from which they can naturally progress to key stage 1.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding the statutory requirements of the EYFS framework, including requirements around the seven areas of learning and development and education programmes.

  • Gaining insight into non-statutory guidance ‘Development Matters’ and ‘Birth to Five Matters’ to help guide curriculum design.

  • Appreciating the value of everyday experiences in building pupils’ foundational knowledge to help them fully prepare for the key stage 1 curriculum.

  • Being able to design an EYFS curriculum which engages and enthuses young minds, with a firm focus on play.

  • Understanding how to articulate the processes of learning to all stakeholders, including the SLT, parents, Ofsted and key stage 1 colleagues,
