This webinar will provide senior leaders, designated safeguarding leads, teachers and teaching assistants with practical advice on implementing the EEF’s Guidance Report Special Educational Needs in Mainstream Schools, to help ensure that pupils with SEND are afforded the same opportunities as their peers to achieve and enjoy school life.

The EEF advises that the attainment gap between pupils with SEND and their peers is twice as big as the gap between those eligible for free school meals and their peers, and also that pupils with SEND are more than twice as likely to be eligible for free school meals.

In this webinar Megan Dixon, specialist literacy teacher and senior leader who has worked closely with the EEF, DfE and Ofsted, will invite schools to review current SEND provision and adopt the EEF’s research-led approach, helping to bridge the attainment gap caused by disadvantage and ensure that pupils with SEND are fully included as members of the school community.
