About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 47 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide teaching assistants with practical guidance and support on developing and implementing different scaffolding and differentiation techniques in the classroom to help enhance learning outcomes for disadvantaged children.

Teaching assistants often have a large amount of responsibility for supporting disadvantaged children which means it’s important that they maximise the time they spend with them. Supporting pupils through differentiation and effective use of scaffolding can help them to develop independent learning skills and give them the best chance to improve their knowledge, engagement and confidence in the classroom.

In this webinar Amjad Ali, senior leader and education trainer who has taught in a range of challenging and diverse settings, will explore how TAs can support children through a more structured, tailored approach to learning based around individual pupil needs.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognising the benefits of effective scaffolding for both TAs and learners and how it can develop wider aspects of children’s education.

  • Developing scaffolding strategies that provide clear direction, expectations, help increase independence and boosts confidence and motivation in learners.

  • Identifying how different scaffolding strategies can target different areas of learning and implementing these into classroom practice.

  • Encouraging pupils to engage with differentiation techniques in a positive and supportive classroom environment.

  • Recognising how to differentiate support as children become more independent and meeting the needs and comfort levels of individual learners.
