On the 1st April, the DfE updated their guidance around how the coronavirus outbreak affects newly qualified teachers (NQTs) and their induction period.
The guidance provides information around absences due to COVID-19, extension periods and how the assessment process will work. It also aims to answer the common questions that headteachers and NQTs may have in respect of what the DfE still expect of them during this unprecedented time.
In this video update John Rees, an experienced teacher, trainer and consultant with more than 25 years educational leadership experience, will discuss what this guidance means for schools and how they will be expected to adapt their policies around NQTs for the short-term.
