This webinar will provide headteachers, modern foreign languages subject leads and teachers with an understanding of the final DfE GCSE subject content and the consequent Ofqual guidance for awarding organisations offering GCSE qualifications in French, German and Spanish for first examination in 2026.

On 14 June 2022, Ofqual published their GCSE subject-level guidance for French, German and Spanish, which follows publication of DfE’s final GCSE content for first teaching in September 2024 and for the first examination in summer 2026. The new document forms part of a suite which outline guidance for awarding organisations offering GCSE qualifications in French, German and Spanish.

In this webinar, the Association of Language Learning (ALL), the UK’s major subject association for those involved in teaching foreign languages at all levels, will clarify the DfE and Ofqual’s requirements, and their implications for the new GCSE assessments.
