About the Webinar

Webinar Duration: 57 minutes (approx.)

This webinar will provide headteachers, curriculum leaders, subject leaders, teachers and practitioners with an insight into the concept of educational effectiveness, and how theory can be translated into best classroom practice to improve outcomes for learners.

Ofsted’s inspection criteria, established in the Education inspection framework (EIF), set a standard for educational effectiveness which is underpinned by research evidence and focuses on four key judgements: quality of education; behaviour and attitudes; personal development; leadership and management.

This webinar explores the concept of educational effectiveness, reviews research used by Ofsted to develop the EIF and identifies best practice in supporting pupils to make more than expected progress.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gaining an insight into the meaning of educational effectiveness as established in the EIF and supporting research evidence.

  • Being able to review and understand how current provision may be reviewed and evaluate to what extent education effectiveness is embedded in the curriculum.

  • Understanding how educational effectiveness is key to intent, implementation and impact.

  • Recognising examples of evidence-based classroom practice which best support pupil development and academic attainment.

  • Identifying further resources which schools can draw upon to inform delivery of educational effectiveness by their curriculum.
